Ms. Bonnie Jean Mallory

Bonnie Jean Martin-Mallory was born on November 9, 1952, in Magnolia (Columbia County) Arkansas, to Wilson & Betty “Julie” Martin. She was the baby of eight. Bonnie accepted Christ at an early age with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Redden. She later joined the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. George E. Barnes, and remained a member until her health began to fail. She shared a unique friendship with her current pastor, Rev. DeWayne Thompson. Bonnie was a graduate of Columbia High School. Class of 1973. Bonnie was married to Mr. Charlie Mallory, but they later divorced and remained friends. Bonnie was a hardworking woman who provided for her family. She worked at Peace Flooring, Magnolia, Manor, and Magnolia High School until her retirement in 2015. Bonnie will be remembered for her straightforward talks and being the life of the party. She never allowed her circumstances to stop her from doing what she loved to do the most which was dancing to her Blues! A mother figure to all who knew her and a favorite aunt she made a unique bond with! Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Wilson & Betty Martin; maternal grandparents, William & Susan Hayes; paternal grandparents, Wilson Martin Sr. & Lena Garrett; two brothers, Sam “SJ” Martin, James “Seymour” Martin; three sisters, Helen Harper, Dessie Mae Harden, and Lena Jean Bell; special uncle, AJ Hayes; special aunts, Bessie Langford & Josephine Penigar; and a special niece, Jackie F. Martin. Bonnie leaves to cherish her precious memories with the love of her life, Mr. Jimmie White of Springhill, Louisiana, her beloved children, Mr. Eduardo L. Martin of Springhill, Louisiana, Haley (Darrell) Martin-Jones of Magnolia, Arkansas; two sisters who meant the world to her, Bernice Hawthorne of Springhill, Louisiana, Margie Reed of Texarkana, Texas; a devoted sister-in-law, Ernestine Martin of Magnolia, Arkansas; her loving Godchildren, LaTrelle Strahan, Kevon Harper, Marleny Goin all of Magnolia, Arkansas; her precious grandchildren, Vanterrious Martin, Christian Bell, Nevi Tell, Denezjha Robinson, Chrishawn Strahan, My’Kenya Jones, LaJerrica Jones, Darrell Jones Jr, LaDeveon Jones, Antione (Eva) Jones; her great grandchildren, Malayah Randle, Vanterrious Martin Jr, A’Dryanna Martin, Zaiden Lee, Calise Lamay, Jordyn Lamay; two special daughters, Quan Guilbeau & Sharron Martin of Magnolia, Arkansas; her best friend/sister, Ms. Diane Rowden of Magnolia, Arkansas. Her everlasting love will remain in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the staff of the Green House Cottages of Wentworth Place. Celebration of Life services will be held Sunday, January 29th, 2023, at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia, Arkansas at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Kings Hill Cemetery in Magnolia, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC. Pastor DeWayne Thompson, Eulogist. Visitation will be Friday, {Jan. 27th} from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., at R.L. Reed Funeral Home in Magnolia, Arkansas. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, “Masks are Encouraged but Not Required While Attending the Services or During Visitation Hours.” However, wearing masks ensures safety for you and others. Thank you.
