Mrs. Connie Maloney

Connie Lee Maloney was born on October 14, 1938, in Waldo, Arkansas, Columbia County, to the parentage of the late Lenard “Lint” Williams and Alvia “Lovie” Williams. She peacefully transitioned from this life on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Wentworth Place in Magnolia, Arkansas. Connie attended Westside High School in Waldo, Arkansas. In 1955, she was baptized into the body of Christ under the tutelage of the late Brother R.L. James at the Westside Church of Christ in Waldo, Arkansas. From that day forward, she remained faithful and committed to her Christian walk. Sis. Connie faithfully served at Wooden Boulevard Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas, and later united with Cedar Crest Church of Christ, where she continued her Christian fellowship and service. On April 3, 1956, Connie united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, the late Ernest Lee Maloney. They were blessed with sixty-five years of marriage, and to this union two children were born. During their early years of marriage, Connie traveled with her husband to Jacksonville, Florida, where he was stationed, experiencing life beyond her hometown. In 1958, Connie and Ernest relocated to Dallas, Texas, beginning a new chapter in their lives. Connie was employed at Texas Instruments and later at Republic Bank. While working, she continued her education and became a licensed cosmetologist and later an instructor at Velma Bee’s Beauty College in Dallas, Texas. Sis. Connie faithfully worshiped with the Cedar Crest Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. She was very active in the congregation and a dedicated member of the choir. She especially enjoyed traveling to various lectureships with her beloved sister Mary Smith, friends Martha Ryhmes, and the late Lois Ivey. Affectionately known as “Doll Baby” a true fashionista, Connie loved stylish attire and was well known for her beautiful hats. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching basketball and enthusiastically cheering for her favorite NBA team, the Dallas Mavericks. Her greatest joy, however, was being “Granny” to Cody and Simone’. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Maloney; daughter, Vickie Bass, son, Anthony Maloney; parents, Lenard and Alvia Williams; brothers: Doldon, O.C., and Erie C. Williams; and sisters: Mae Ruth Watson, Audrey Eastland, Dossie Shaw, Marie Harris, and Ardie Houston. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: grandchildren, Cody Darnell Johnson and Candida Simone’ Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kimone’ and Ethin Johnson; son-in-law, Marshall “Bud” Bass; all of Dallas, Texas; a loving and caring sister, Mary Helen (Jimmy) Smith of Waldo, Arkansas; two sisters-in-laws, Lou Ester Williams of Waldo, Arkansas, and Doris Harris of Arizona; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Connie Lee Maloney will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving spirit, elegant style, and devotion to her family. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Celebration of Life services will be held Friday, March 6th, 2026, at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia, Arkansas at 12:00 noon, with a direct interment at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday March 17th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC. Bro. Juerga Smith, Eulogist. Visitation will be Thursday, {Mar. 5th}, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at R.L. Reed Funeral Home in Magnolia, Arkansas. “For precaution due to the COVID-19, Masks are Encouraged but Not Required While Attending the Services and During Visitation Hours. However, wearing masks ensures safety for you and others. Thank you.”
