Ms. Jaynell McDaniel

Mother Jaynell Shaw McDaniel was born on January 15, 1950, in Emerson, Arkansas, to the late Hent Shaw, Sr. and the late Annie T. Shaw. She was raised with strong family values and a deep reverence for faith that would guide her throughout her life. Jaynell received her formal education in the local school system and graduated from Walker High School. She later continued her academic pursuits at Southern Arkansas University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. Mother McDaniel began her Christian walk at Roadside Church of God in Christ, where she played a significant role in the early life of the ministry and was responsible for naming the church. Her love for the Lord and dedication to the work of the ministry were evident from the very beginning. She later united with Austin Temple Church of God in Christ, where she faithfully served for many years. During her years of service, Mother McDaniel worked diligently in the vineyard of the Lord. She served as a Sunshine Band Leader and a devoted Sunday School Teacher, pouring wisdom, guidance, and the Word of God into the lives of those she taught. In recognition of her faithfulness and spiritual maturity, she was later honored with the esteemed role of Mother of the Church, a position she carried with grace, humility, and a nurturing spirit. Mother McDaniel was also known for her strong work ethic and dedication in her professional life. She was employed at Weyerhaeuser for over 11 years before continuing her career at Amfuel, where she faithfully served for more than 20 years until her health no longer allowed her to continue working. Mother McDaniel peacefully transitioned from this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hent Shaw, Sr. and Annie T. Shaw; her brothers, Marvin Shaw, Sr., Willie Shaw, Sr., and Charles Shaw; her sisters, Tina Shaw and Faye Shaw; and her beloved great-nephew, De’Taevias Cooper. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her son, Marcus (Sonya) McDaniel; her daughter, Trudy (Terry) Glover; two grandsons, Tre Wafer and Nicholas McDaniel; her granddaughter, Kenyatta Manning; and her great-grandson, Kacey Page, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her sisters: Charlene Willis, Bobbie (Walter) Young, Glenda Cooper, and Emma (Carol) Matthews; and her brothers: Elvis (Helen) Shaw, Hent (Cathy) Shaw, and Donnie Shaw. Mother McDaniel’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. She will be lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God. Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2026, at Austin Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Magnolia, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Emerson, Arkansas, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC. Elder Robert Roy, Eulogist. Visitation will be Friday, {Mar. 6th}, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at R.L. Reed Funeral Home in Magnolia, Arkansas. “For precaution due to the COVID-19, Masks are Encouraged but Not Required While Attending the Services and During Visitation Hours. However, wearing masks ensures safety for you and others. Thank you.”
