Mrs. Patricia Williamson-McDonald

Patricia Williamson-McDonald, affectionately known as “Mrs. Pat,” was born on August 2, 1956, in Magnolia, Arkansas. She peacefully departed this life on April 2, 2026, in Magnolia, Arkansas, at the age of 69. Patricia was a proud graduate of Magnolia High School, Class of 1974, and continued her education at Henderson University and Southern Arkansas University, where she was honored as a Sigma Sweetheart. She built a remarkable and trailblazing career, dedicating 39 years of service to Phillips Petroleum, later known as Bonanza Creek and Mission Creek Resources. Patricia made history as one of the first Black women to work at Phillips Petroleum, and her excellence and work ethic allowed her to remain a valued employee through every company transition. She also broke barriers as the first woman in Arkansas to obtain a Stationary Steam Boiler license. On July 19, 2021, Patricia married her best friend and the love of her life, Donny Hugh McDonald. Their union was one of genuine love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and, even when unable to attend regularly, remained steadfast in her faith, diligently studying the Word of God. Patricia loved the Lord deeply and found joy in spending time with her family, especially her husband and grandsons. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, blessing others, fishing, and traveling. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie Bell Williamson and Hershel Williamson; her uncles, Lee Williamson and Roy Williamson; and her father-in-law, Donald McDonald. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband, Donny Hugh McDonald; sons, Aaron (Amanda) Asberry of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Eric Asberry of Hope, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Afton McDonald of Houston, Texas; grandsons, Jude Asberry and Aveion Mathes of Wilmington, North Carolina; step-grandsons, Austin and Ayden Joseph of Houston, Texas; brother, Douglas Williamson of Junction City, Kansas; aunts, Velma Sue Hatter of Houston, Texas, and Vestarine Talley of Dallas, Texas; mother-in-law, Othellas McDonald of Magnolia; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at 23rd Psalms Cemetery in Magnolia, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC. Minister Marcus McDonald, Eulogist. Visitation will be Friday, {Apr. 17th}, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at R.L. Reed Funeral Home in Magnolia, Arkansas. “For precaution due to the COVID-19, Masks are Encouraged but Not Required While Attending the Services and During Visitation Hours. However, wearing masks ensures safety for you and others. Thank you.”
