Chauncey Di’Juan Barnes was born January 5, 2010, to Akeiba Christopher and Zhamill Barnes in Magnolia, Arkansas. He gained his wings on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Chauncey was a 5th grade student at Central Elementary School in the Magnolia Public School District. Chauncey’s life was a true representation of faith in action. His love for God and His people was undoubtedly a testament to how we all should be. Chauncey was the proud member of the Greater Harvest Church of God in Christ where he served faithfully until his death. He was active in Sunday School, Sunshine Band, and the Youth Choir. He loved his church family. He enjoyed the game of football and basketball. Chauncey played football for the Magnolia Warriors and basketball for the Upward program. Chauncey was preceded in death by his great uncle, Jermillian “Gee” Daniels, and grandparents, Lena Fields, and Herbert Odom. Chauncey leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Akeiba Christopher; father, Zhamill Barnes; sisters, Charity and Jaylee Christopher, and Zhariah Barnes; brothers, Blake Carter, Joshua Palmer, and Zakari Barnes; grandparents: Tonya Christopher, Johnny Carter, Geroge (Daniel’le) Barnes, Cassandra Barnes, and Brandy (Gary) Martin; great grandparents: Barbara Daniels, Dorothy (Roy) Henry, Johnny Carter, Sr., William and Lillian Watson, and Georgia Odom; great great grandparents, Yvonne Christopher and Maxine Carter; aunts: Kamari Christopher, Jermysha Davis, Marquisha Norwood, Ja’Kaleigh Carter, Alexis Holcomb, Zkochia (Kendrick) Ransom, and Zhiara Barnes; uncles: Jalen (Shelby) Carter, Ahkeem Huntley, Jase Carter, JaKayden Carter, and Zhamir Watson; great aunts & great uncles: Bianca Blanks, Angela Garland, Roy Henry, Brandon Williamson, Gerry L. Barnes, Cedric Watson, Chansundra Odom, Jerome Tullis, Conita and Tony Ferguson, Detric Watson, and Conieveral Tullis; special aunt, Naomi Randle; special cousins: Tay Barnes, Leighton, Jamaurie, and Jeremiah Daniels; his heroes, Derrian Ford and Kadyn Roach; and a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at the R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia, AR, with burial to follow in the 23rd Psalms Cemetery in Magnolia, AR.
