Ms. Eartha Bell "Sister" Sanders

Ms. Eartha Bell “Sister” Sanders, 107, of the Falcon, AR., passed away January 2nd at her home. She was born October 13, 1910 in Falcon, AR to Levi Sanders and Ida Gipson-Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Emma Jean Sanders, three brothers; Ermon T. Sanders, Thurston Sanders, and Armon Sanders. She attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Falcon, AR, where she has been a faithful member throughout her life and attended Sanders School in Falcon, AR. Ms. Sanders was raised on a 60-acre farm owned by her father, where she was presently living and started working on the farm at a very young age and continued to do so until about 10 years ago. She raised her own cows, hogs, ducks, chickens, and grew her own vegetables. Milking cows and churning butter was one of her things she enjoyed the most. Ms. Sanders had said, that people would come from miles around just to buy her fresh milk and homemade butter. One of her past-time was stripping cane to make sorghum syrup and traded with several merchants in the Waldo, Stamps, and Falcon area. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, and contributed her long healthy life to the Grace of God and treating people like she wanted to be treated. She’s survived by one daughter; Mrs. Edna Adams & husband Lee of Falcon, AR and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 6th, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church in Falcon, AR., with burial to follow in New Hope Cemetery. Under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC of Magnolia, AR. Officiating will be Rev. William Haynes. Visitation: Friday 4-5: p.m. at the funeral home.
