Mr. Edward "Tiny" Collins

Deacon Edward “Tiny” Collins, 84 of Magnolia, AR., passed away December 13th at Life Touch Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. He was born September 09, 1932 in Parkdale, AR. to George Collins and Gary Johnson-Collins. He attended Columbia High School in Magnolia, AR. He joined Homes Near Baptist church in Magnolia, AR. at a young age, later moved his membership to Kendrick Chapel Baptist Church in Waldo, AR., where he was ordained as a Deacon. He later united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Magnolia, AR., where he served as a Deacon until he was called home to be with the Lord. He was an employee of The Banner News for several years as a Pressman, was relocated to El Dorado Times, where he remained until he retired. He united in Holy Matrimony to Reba McKinney on May 17, 1958, to this union, five children were born. Bro. Collins loved the Lord, his wife, family, and his fellowman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Johnny Ray Dale, a grandson; Da’Maarion Robinson, one sister; Hattie Mae Hill, two brothers; Ezekiel Collins and Otis Reed. Survivors include; his wife of 58 years; Mrs. Reba Collins, two sons; Kenneth Collins & wife Belendia of Emerson, AR., Bobby Collins & wife Phyllis of Magnolia, AR. Three daughters; Mrs. Edna Faye Huntley of Waldo, AR., Mrs. Carolyn Manning and Mrs. Dorothy Darrett both of Magnolia, AR. One brother; Rev. Samuel Collins of El Dorado, AR. Four sisters: Mrs. Lillie Sargent & husband Freddie, Mrs. Sarah Calton, Mrs. Naomi Shepherd, Mrs. Octavia Revels & husband Roy all of Magnolia, AR. Two sister-in-law’s; Mrs. Marie Talley of Magnolia, AR. and Mrs. Sue Collins of Minneapolis, MN. Two brother-in-law’s; Bobby Robinson of Camden, AR. and Bill Mixon of McNeil, AR. Eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, family, & friends. Homegoing celebration will be held Friday, December 23th, at 12:00 Noon at the Columbia District Auditorium in Magnolia, AR., with burial to follow in the West Cemetery in Magnolia, AR. Under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC of Magnolia, AR. Officiating will be Dr. Wendell F. Colen. Visitation Thursday from 12: noon till 5: p.m. at the funeral home.
