George Edward “Sonny” Howell, 67, of the Falcon community near Buckner, AR., passed away March 13th. at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia, AR. He was born March 01, 1949 in Waldo, AR. to the late George Howell and Ruby Brown-Howell. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Georgia Lewis, one brother; Flody Howell and a step-daughter; Edna Pennington. A very humble man and loved by many, he united with the New Hope Baptist Church in Falcon, AR., served as a Deacon. He was a Mason (F &A.M.) and a retired employee of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. He’s survived by his wife of 19 years; Mrs. Edna Howell, three daughters; Mrs. Veronica Bush, Ms. Lisa Howell, and Ms. Kim Howell. Three sons; George Howell, Jr., Kevin, and Corey Howell. A step-son; Author Adams. His mother-in-law; Mrs. Eartha Bell Sanders, three sisters; Mrs. Betty Bailey, Mrs. Judy Benson, and Ms. Dorothy Howell. Four brothers; Levell, Robert, Herbert, and Herman Howell. One aunt; Mrs. Mabel Davis, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, March 19th., at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church in Falcon, AR., with burial to follow with Masonic Rites in the New Hope Cemetery. Under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home of Magnolia, AR. Officiating will be Rev. William Haynes. Visitation: Friday 12Noon till 5: p.m. at the funeral home.
