Mr. Josten “Jook” Giovanni Trevino, 30 yrs. old of Gurdon, Arkansas, passed Saturday morning at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. Josten Giovanni “Jook” Trevino was born June 28, 1990, to Javier Trevino and Christy (Berry) McPeak. At an early age, he united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church and gave his life to God. He served on the Usher Board and was a member of the choir. Josten attended Lafayette County High School; and he was a member of the graduating class of 2008. He had a passion for playing basketball while in school. Josten also displayed his talents in art—from drawing on paper to writing and creating music. His dream was to become the “One” who represented his hometown. “Jook’s” great talent in the art of music led to productions of three of his own albums. They were entitled, “Southern Nights,” “The Jook Joint,” and “Jook Moments.” He was an acclaimed artist, producer, and A&R within the Grindkingz Label. Josten was partnered with M.L. Dancer and LaKimberly Clark. Josten was preceded in death by his great great grandparents, William “Bo” and Ella Mae “Momo” Jacobs; great grandmother, Ruby L. Reese; and uncles, Kenny Berry, Jr. and his favorite uncle, Dale E. Jacobs. Josten leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Javier Trevino; mother, Christy Berry McPeak; stepfather, Wendell McPeak; older sister, Kristen (James) Ward of Hope, AR; brother, Brandon (Tiffany) Berry; niece, Brooklyn Berry; nephew, Trent Berry; sister, Valeria Trevino; brother, Adrian Trevino; stepbrother, Anthony McPeak; godmother, Monique Threets; bonus brothers, Rico Edmonson, Desmond Jones, and T.J. Threets; maternal grandmother, Joann Henry; paternal grandparents, Javier (Alicia) Trevino; uncles, Thomas (Rhonda) Henry, Jr., Rev. Otis Berry, Larry Jacobs, Hector and Julio Trevino; aunts, Regina Henry, Veronica Trevino, Rosemary Jacobs, Linda Berry Ensley, and Linda F. Berry; and a host of cousins, friends, the class of 2008, and Masonic brothers who will miss him dearly. Graveside Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Leroy Brown Memorial Park in Buckner, Arkansas at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Buckner Community Cemetery, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home. Rev. Quintin Radford eulogist. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, “Everyone Is Required To Wear A Mask While Attending The Services”. This ensures safety for you and others.
