Mr. Reginald D. Jackson
August 10, 1979 - March 2, 2021
Mr. Reginald D. Jackson, 41, of Irving, TX, formerly of Magnolia, AR, passed away at his residence Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021. On August 10, 1979, Lonnie Jackson, Jr., and Vivian Jackson welcomed the baby boy of their bunch, Reginald “Reggie” Darrell Jackson, to the family. God called him to board a First-Class flight to his destination in Heaven from his earthly home on Tuesday, March 2, 2021; and we imagine that, in classic Reggie form, he jumped at that golden opportunity without a thought of looking back. Reggie was such a wonderful man who dedicated his life to showing his unconditional love towards his family and friends. He had a funny and unfiltered way of relaying his authentic love language; and everyone who was blessed to be in his presence had an understanding of just who he was. Reggie’s solid foundation in Christ and love for Him began during his formative years at Roadside Church of God in Christ (now Greater Roadside) in Emerson, Arkansas. During those same years, his church membership moved to Greater Harvest Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Larry Roach—where he remained a loyal member until his passing. Because Reggie’s mom instilled in him a strong work ethic in the church, he had no choice but to hold down many positions in the church. As an adult, Reggie would still offer his assistance with the choir. His very dramatic approach to leading his songs, “Run and Tell That,” and “My God Reigns,” would minister in its own unique way to those in the audience and much laughter for his brothers and sisters in Christ. He also helped with Vacation Bible School, Ushering, driving the Church Van, and even dressing up as Santa Claus to bring enjoyment to the youth. He was truly a valuable asset to the body of Christ. Reggie received his formal education in the Magnolia School District; and was a PROUD member of the graduating class of 1997. Professionally, Reggie made positive and lasting impressions with his former employers and peers. Reggie naturally knew how to create a family-type environment around whoever whenever. He was employed as a Delivery Driver for Budweiser for a number of years. After his employment with Budweiser, he was granted the opening to be the full-time Caregiver of his mother during her illness. From being her means of transportation to appointments to ensuring that she received the best of whatever she needed, Reggie devoted his life to the quality enhancement of his mother’s life. While on duty taking care of his mother, he became a friendly working presence at the former Shell Superstop (now Valero) and the lovable “Mr. Jackson” in the Magnolia School District as a Substitute Teacher. His relationship with his co-workers at Shell and his students at the school proved to be lifelong as he gave the best of himself. Reggie’s relocation to Irving, Texas, yielded his last employment enjoyment with American Airlines. The relationships he created with his crew, for at six years, will forever be etched in each life he touched. Reggie was a huge Washington Redskins and New York Yankees fan. It was not uncommon to see him rocking some form of his teams’ gear to show his commitment to the teams in season and out of season—through their wins and losses. He also loved to travel. Reggie’s employment with American Airlines afforded him countless opportunities to see parts of the world that brought him much happiness. Truly, his 41 years of life on earth gave new meaning to living without limits—living a blessed life. Reggie was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Jackson, and nephew, Jamal Davis. Those left to cherish his memory are: his father, Lonnie Jackson, Jr. of Magnolia, Arkansas; sisters, Lonita Davis of Magnolia, Arkansas, Eugenia Cooper of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Yukie Heard of Arlington, Texas; brothers, Keith (Sonja) Jackson of Magnolia, Arkansas, Victor (Kelly) Jackson of Benton, Arkansas, and Cory (Iiesha) Jackson of Nash, Texas; god-sister, Tiffani (Avi) Carey of Dallas, Texas; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and un-biologically linked friends who were more like family in Reggie’s beautiful life. Graveside Celebration of Life services will be held Sunday, March 14th, 2021, at St. Matthew Cemetery in McNeil, AR at 1:00 p.m., under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, {Mar. 13th} from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, “Everyone Is Required to Wear A Mask While Attending the Services and During Visitation”.
