Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Clayton

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann "Tula" Clayton, 78 years old, passed away Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, at Wentworth Greenhouse Cottages in Magnolia, Arkansas. Elizabeth Ann Howell-Clayton was born to Earnest Howell and Lillie Bell Fears on August 26th, 1945, in Waldo, Arkansas. She attended school in Waldo until the 9th grade. The way she built her household and took care of her family, one would think she had a college degree. She was the best mother and wife that you could ever ask for. She worked at Firestone and Amfuel for many years until her health declined. Even though she was confined to a wheelchair since October of 1997, she still found the determination to cook, clean and make floral arrangements and live a full and productive life. Liz had a love for people like I've never witnessed before. She was a nurturer and giver. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge. She married the love of her life, Nathaniel Clayton on March 23rd, 1963. They stayed married until his passing on March 23rd, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents: Earnest Howell and Lillie Bell Fears; Husband: Nathaniel Clayton of 47 years; Brothers: Leroy Bryant, Roosevelt Bryant, Cleodis Howell; Sisters: Mittie Pearl Robinson, Juantia Howell-Moore; Father-in-Law: Joseph Clayton and Doneth Green; Mother-in-law: Irene Clayton-Green; Two brother-in-laws: Napoleon Clayton and Eddie Lee Clayton; Grandson: Edward (Sam) Cooper, Sakoyye Clayton. She accepted Crist at an early age. She was a member of New Bethel A.M.E. in Waldo, AR and later joined Bethany Baptist Church in McNeil where she faithfully served as an Usher, Pastor's Aide President, assisted on the Kitchen Commitee, Mission, and cleaning department until her health declined. She leaves to cherish her memories, her precious children: Eddie James Clayton, Michael D. Clayton (wife: (Mary), Nathell Clayton, all of McNeil and Ray Clayton of Magnolia. Grandchildren: Brooklyn (Kourtne), Erica Brown (Jamal), Anthony (Fauneil), Michael D. Clayton II, Nathan (Shay), Ebonique, Stephen, Braxton, and Christopher. (14) Great grandchildren, (1) Great-great grandson, Special Cousin (Versie "Mutt" Chambers), a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Bonus son: Willie Cooper, (2) Bonus Grandsons: Kashad Jackson, Tyler Irby. Special Friends: Mary Pickings, Nina Madison, Yvonne Ellie, Barbara Lawson, Ethel Mae Jackson. Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at the Bethany Baptist Church in McNeil, Arkansas at 3:00 p.m., with burial to follow at St. Matthews Cemetery, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC. Pastor Jamal Brown, Officiant and Pastor Michael D. Clayton, Eulogist Visitation will be Friday, {Apr. 12th}, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., at R.L. Reed Funeral Home in Magnolia, Arkansas. “For precaution due to the COVID-19, Masks are Encouraged but Not Required While Attending the Services or During Visitation Hours. However, wearing masks ensures safety for you and others. Thank you.”
