Obituary for Harriette Benson-Briggs Sunrise: June 6, 1950 | Sunset: August 25, 2024 | Age: 74 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harriette Benson-Briggs, who left us on August 25, 2024, after a life filled with laughter, love, and unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Harriette was the beloved wife of Edward Briggs, and they were together for over 50 years. Harriette met Edward in her early twenties, and that was the beginning of a relationship that would last over half a century! A bond of love was formed between them that would truly stand the test of time. In addition to her role as a devoted wife, Harriette was a proud mother to two children: Nanette Gilbert, from a previous marriage, and RaShon Briggs, as she provided a steady, consistent motherly influence in their lives. She is also survived by her younger brother, Ricardo Glover, who fondly recalls their shared life experiences and heartfelt moments. Harriette’s vibrant personality shone brightly in every gathering, and she was known as the comedian of the family. Her ability to find humor in everyday situations brought joy and laughter to countless family members and friends, making her a cherished presence. She had a unique talent for lifting spirits and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere wherever she went. Her laughter was infectious, and it resonated through the hearts of her loved ones, leaving behind cherished memories that will last a lifetime. A passionate cook, Harriette found joy in preparing meals for her loved ones and mixed her dishes with flavors that reflected her vibrant personality. She enjoyed the opportunity to gather her family around the dinner table, where stories were shared, and laughter could be heard. Her cooking skills were evidence of her commitment to nurturing those she loved, making every meal a celebration of togetherness. Harriette was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Magnolia, Ark., and was an active and dedicated usher, where she extended her kindness and generosity to others. She embraced her role with enthusiasm, welcoming everyone with open arms and a genuine smile. Her commitment to service and love for her church family exemplified the measure of faith that God had given her. Harriette Benson-Briggs was the daughter of the late Easter Mae Bowen. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and commitment that will resonate through the lives she touched. In addition to those that have already been mentioned, she leaves behind an uncle, Hurtis Paschal, and a grand-daughter, RaShonda Ellis and five great grand-daughters, and numerous family members and friends. She will be profoundly missed! Rest in peace, our beloved Harriette. Your laughter, love, and unwavering commitment to family will forever be in our hearts. Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at 23rd Psalms Cemetery in Magnolia, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC. A visitation will be held Friday {Sep. 6th}, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., at R.L. Reed Funeral Home in Magnolia. “For precaution due to the COVID-19, Masks are Encouraged but Not Required While Attending the Services and During Visitation Hours. However, wearing masks ensures safety for you and others. Thank you.”
